This week in Mrs.Cooper's class ...

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!

Coming up this week ...

Monday November 4th -
Tuesday November 5th - AM Class, SEL workshop with Patricia Fiorino
Wednesday November 6th -
Thursday November 7th - Probability Math Challenge (Instead of Quiz)
Friday November 8th - Crazy Hair day (Bring a donation for United Way "Be The Light" campaign)

Progress reports went home on Friday. Please review the progress report with your child. The link for interviews was in the letter that was sent out by the school via email on Friday. If the interview night does not work for you, please reach out and I can schedule a different day before or after school or a phone interview if that is your preference. As I teach 46 students, there is not enough slots for everyone to have an interview on the designated interview evening. Thank you for your cooperation with this.

This week in Math we will be continuing with probability. Our next Math unit will be looking at time and measuring time.

This week in Language students will be completing their Halloween descriptive narratives and we will be moving into persuasive letter writing. As we finish the Global Read Aloud this week, students will be asked to write a persuasive letter to the principal or to someone in the government in regards to a world or school issue or agenda that they are passionate about.

This week in Religion we will continue to look at the pillars of our faith. Students are also learning the grade 5 prayer which is the Prayer to St.Richard.

Homework:
Math - Probability questions posted on hapara (Paper copies available in class)
Language - Reading and response activity on hapara (Paper copies available in class)
* Students should also be reading a text of their choice for 15 - 20 minutes every evening.

Thank you and have a great week!
